TuneIn Seeks Automotive Breakthrough

Audio company will challenge Apple's CarPlay, Android Auto by partnering with Chinese automaker

Car buyers in Australia and Europe will soon have a new audio option, as TuneIn announced it will provide in-car audio connectivity in Great Wall Motors vehicles.

TuneIn's selection of 100,000 radio stations, 5 million podcasts and 100,000 audiobooks will be the default audio setting for Haval, Wey, Ora, Poer and Tank brands. The models all fall under the umbrella of China-based GWM Global.

It's a market largely dominated by Android Auto and Apple's CarPlay.

GWM customers will get a 90-day free trail of the TuneIn Premium subscription.
